We found at least one Strider who wasn’t lazing around in a pool for Labor Day: Art Clay! Art reported that, “… as you may know, the 25k Around Cape Ann was canceled this year. The next best thing was a half marathon yesterday in Boothbay Harbor, ME. It turned out to be a great race with spectacular views, but very challenging, with nearly 1,000 feet of climbing (almost double the elevation gain of Cape Ann which is already a brutal course) and a mile of trail running to boot.
Check out the attached elevation profile in case you’re curious…
I am happy to report that I PR’d with a 1:42:00 and came in 15th OA, and 4th in my AG. If Cape Ann should become extinct, I strongly recommend this Labor Day weekend race as a fine substitute.” – Art Clay
