Congrats to all of the North Shore Striders who ran in yesterday’s marathon! Special congratulations to Martin Tighe who celebrated his birthday by placing first in his division (amazing!); to Kevin Counihan, who set a new record for number of marathons completed (how many is it now!?); and to Rosie Kyes, who ran Boston as her first-ever marathon!
Thanks to all of the mile 12 water stop volunteers (and in particular to Mary Stevens for organizing it) who make it possible for our club to have a presence in the marathon every year. Thanks too to Mike and Anne Pelletier for arranging transportation for dozens of runners on the North Shore to Hopkington.
All of the Striders we saw pass mile 12 looked smiling and strong. It was great to see you all! Thanks to Rosie and Roger for sharing some terrific photos (if anyone has more to post, send ’em my way).

It was a tough day but we all worked as a team to take the Boston Marathon back. Everyone did such a wonderful job whether running, organizing, supplying parking spots, encouraging, working the water stops, cheering, hugging sending along good wishes, schlepping and then delivering our discarded clothing, tracking us and writing kind words about us. I feel blessed to be part of such a caring and supportive club. I love you guys!
